Breaking Bad Habits

Hey GirlFriends!

So recently, I met an older gentlemen that was dealing with alcohol abuse and drug addiction. After he shared his story what took me by surprise the most was how late in life he started his bad habits.  It  made me empathize with him though because we all have had to deal with our habits at some point in our lives.  It was at that moment I realized that bad habits can come into ya life when you least expect it and when your vulnerable. So I thought to myself, that when I was breaking a bad habit that it had to be the most challenging and trying situation ever.  All I could do was understand the difficulty in what he is facing.  Quitting bad habits is a purging of behaviors that have probably been in ya life for quite some time. If caught early then we can usually walk away without much damage.  The problem is in the beginning we seem to think it is not a habit but it is only fun and that it is all under control or that quitting is no problem.  When in actuality those are the lies we continue to tell ourselves to engage without all the guilt or having to confront the issue itself. To break a bad habits it takes everything you got to be dedicated to quitting. So with this post I just want to encourage anyone struggling or dealing with addiction or bad habits. This is not an easy battle and if you really want it then you can find your way to being addiction free.
